Show this Wednesday + new merch

Two quick updates:

1. We're playing this Wednesday at the VooDoo Lounge in San Jose. Show's at 9, we're on at 10:30. It's $5 and 21+. We've added a couple of new tunes to the set and we're pretty sure they'll bounce around in your heads for a while after the show.

2. You can buy yourself or a loved one a Farewell Typewriter thong (or any number of other FT-themed products) at the official Farewell Typewriter CafePress shop.

We'll have some more exciting news soon, but for now, have a lovely holiday season and don't ever stop believin'.

Press darlings

Friends, it is an exciting time at Farewell Typewriter HQ. Our debut EP, Selfish, has been reviewed in the latest issue of West Coast Performer magazine. Check it out here (naturally, you will need to scroll down close to the bottom).

This is a fine opportunity to remind you that you may purchase the now critically acclaimed listened-to Selfish EP at our online store.

Show in SF this Wednesday

Well, Farewell Fans, it's been an exciting month. Our very own Steve Slater was married about a week ago, and Mr. Jason Countryman and Mr. Grant Shellen played some delicious jazz tunes at the ceremony. Audie was there, too, but his role was to merely look good. And I'll be darned if he wasn't downright gorgeous.

But matrimony aside, we're all back in the game and ready to deliver the goods. This week, in fact. We're playing at the Elbo Room with our friends Good People on Wednesday, Sept. 26. We hope you'll join us for a lovely evening. We're on first @ 9:30.

Writing, relaxing, counting cash

Hello friends. We're very pleased with the way our last two shows (in San Jose and Oakland) went. We remembered most of our gear, played many of the notes that are in our songs, and generally had a non-terrible time. We hope the scores of you that showed up did, too.

We don't have any gigs booked for a short bit, but we're not just lazing about drinking apple-tinis. Sure, we're doing that, but we're also writing new songs for your aural enjoyment.

If you haven't already purchased your copy of the Selfish EP, we'd like to remind you that you can do so for the low price of $6 + $2 shipping, which is a total of $8. If you're really impatient, you can pay a few extra bucks for shipping. All of this is possible at the Farewell Typewriter store. Talk to you soon.

Rocking is easy, maintaining a website is hard

So never mind that this post is a couple of weeks late, but we thought we'd let you know that we had a blast at our CD release show at Cafe du Nord last month. We appreciate all of you who showed up to support us, and we had a great time sharing the stage with Gooferman & Trainwreck.

We've got another show coming up this Wednesday at the Voodoo Lounge in downtown San Jose. Details here for any South Bayers who would like to attend.

Perhaps the most exciting news of all is that no matter where you reside, you can experience Farewell Typewriter for yourself by purchasing our debut CD, the Selfish EP. It's available on our store page. Six beautiful songs for six measly dollars (+ shipping).

We've also created an official Farewell Typewriter YouTube channel to share videos of our live performances and the occasional interview or FT vignette. Watch and enjoy.

CD + shows!

Though we thought this day might never come, we have in our possession several million copies of our debut EP, which goes by the name Selfish.

Not only does it sound great, it looks gorgeous. I recommend buying one for listening and several hundred more to use as wallpaper in your home, cubicle or medical office.

The even more fantastic news is that you'll be able to purchase a copy at our CD release party June 24 @ 8 p.m. at San Francisco's Cafe du Nord. We're excited about this show because it's with the super-awesome Trainwreck, which features Kyle Gass of Tenacious D. Gooferman also plays, but your friends Farewell Typewriter go on first.

If you're not in the San Francisco area or have some lame excuse like your grandmother's 90th birthday party, you'll be able to purchase our CD (or digital files, if you swing that way) online very soon. We'll let you know when those details emerge.

We've got shows booked in San Jose and Oakland coming up, too, so be sure to check our shows page regularly (and join our mailing list and/or be our MySpace friend) to stay abreast of hot news.

SF show this Wednesday, CDs seriously almost here

Just a quick heads up that we're playing the Red Devil Lounge in San Francisco with our friends Good People this Wednesday, May 2. It's our first Bay Area gig with Audie, and we know it's going to be a good time.

Details on our shows page or Upcoming (which you can always check or even subscribe to for FT show news here). We go on at 8:30, but you should definitely stick around for the other bands -- it won't be a late show since we know you have that big important meeting Thursday morning.

Also, our CDs are reportedly in a truck on its way up from Los Angeles. We'll let you know when they're available for purchase. Keep your eyes and/or ears peeled for a CD release show.

Farewell Typewriter is growing, changing

Hi friends. We've got exciting news to report. We've acquired (through a series of back-alley deals) a new guitarist & keyboard player who goes by the name of Audie Roldan. Audie also plays with our neighbors Marisma, and he is adding some much-needed coloration to our previously limited sonic palette. Welcome aboard, Audie!

We're seriously (seriously) putting the finishing touches on the artwork for the Selfish EP, which contains six of the Farewell Typewriter songs you know and love. We'll let you know as soon as you can get your grubby hands on a copy.

Additionally, we've got a show coming up April 13 at the G Street Pub in beautiful Davis, Calif. (FYI for those of you to whom this means anything, this is the night before Picnic Day.)

We'll be booking more Bay Area shows now that Audie is learning the ropes. If you're wondering why we're making our newest band member master rope-climbing, you've obviously never been in a band. See you soon!
